Mental health support services
- Emotional Wellbeing Hub - Information, advice and support for anybody concerned about the wellbeing and/or mental health of a young person aged 0 to 25 years old. A young person, parent/carer, or GP can make a referral to the Emotional Wellbeing Hub, which can provide access to NHS Children and Adolescence Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
- Suffolk Wellbeing Service - Provides support for those aged 16 and over. You can self-refer to talking therapies for if you’re feeling stressed, anxious, low or depressed; or go to your GP, health or social care professional and they can refer you.
- Inspire Suffolk- Provides 12 weeks of counselling for young people aged 10 to 25 years old, social activities, access to food and clothing banks, educational support, employment support and much more.
- Childline - “You can contact Childline about anything. Whatever your worry, it's better out than in. We're here to support you.” Anybody under the age of 19 can contact Childline via email, phone, or online messaging for support from a counsellor.
- 4YP - Counselling for those aged 7 - 25. Typically, six to eight sessions, lasting 50 minutes each; in-person, over the phone, or online. There are also youth clubs and drop-ins that you can access.
- Kooth - 1:1 anonymous support with mental health professionals via chat or message for those aged 11-25 years.
- The Mix - Counselling for any young person aged 13-25, usually between four and eight 50-minute sessions, on the same day and time each week.
- ChatHealth - Confidential messaging service for young people ages 11 to 19. Texts are answered to by a member of the school nursing team between 9am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday (not on bank holidays).
- The NHS has more advice about where you can get mental health support as an adult, child or young person, as well as advice for parents and carers.
