What this service offers

The Youth CFYP Norfolk and Waveney service supports young people with the following conditions:

  • Anxiety disorders

  • Moderate to severe depression

  • Mood disorders

  • Personality disorders

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder

  • Psychotic disorders.

Once somebody is referred to our Youth CFYP Norfolk and Waveney service they may be offered an initial telephone triage with a mental health practitioner. This is to make sure service users are offered an initial assessment by the most appropriate professional in our team or a partner agency.

Following the assessment, the clinician discusses alternative treatment options with their service user.

The Youth CFYP Norfolk and Waveney team is made up of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, assistant practitioners and community support workers.

The team offers one-to-one and group interventions. They don't always offer diagnosis or medication, but work is centred around what service users perceive to be the problem.

The frequency of visits depends on the needs of individual service users and their discussions with our team. The Youth CFYP Norfolk and Waveney service will always respect individuality and any care package offered is designed in conjunction with service users to enable them to achieve an optimum level of emotional and mental wellbeing.
