New Governors elected to help mental health trust
NSFT will welcome six new Governors to support the organisation's ongoing improvement work across its services.
Governors help shape the future of specialist mental health and learning disability services provided by the Trust and act as a key link with the communities it serves.
Following a ballot of Trust members, the following candidates were elected and will join the Council of Governors on 1 February 2026:
- Public: Central Norfolk - Roger Mason and Carol Read
- Public: East Suffolk - Sebastian Reeve
- Public: West Suffolk - Rob Summers
- Staff - Maggie Harahwa and Soumyadeep Saha
The votes were counted by Civica Election Services, an independent organisation which runs the election process.
Zoë Billingham, NSFT's Chair, said: "Congratulations to everyone who has been elected. Our Governors play a key role in improving the services we provide. I look forward to working with them as we continue our work to deliver safer, kinder and better care to our service users, their families and carers and the communities we serve."
Governors hold NSFT's Non-Executive Directors to account for the performance of the Board and contribute to the strategic debate about the overall direction of the Trust.
The Council comprises 24 Governors elected by Trust Members and eight appointed by partner organisations. Elected Governors serve three-year terms, starting on 1 February.
