NSFT is marking International Women’s Day with a special event at its Hellesdon site.

From 1-3pm on Friday 6 March (two days before the official day) The Hub at the Rivers Centre will be hosting stands from teams across the Trust, advocating for women’s health within mental health services and celebrating women working in mental health.

The interactive and engaging stalls will cover some of the challenges women face, such as pregnancy, post-natal issues, neurodiversity and menopause.

There will be a bake sale, with money raised being used to support activities and resources on the female wards, and a jewellery making station.

Visitors can also contribute to a Gratitude Tree, where they can give their thanks to a woman who has inspired them.

International Women's Day (IWD), on 8 March, has been around for more than 100 years, as have many of the issues still impacting women's advancement. The aim of the day is to promote gender equality, celebrate women's achievement and raise awareness about discrimination.

The 2026 theme is 'Give To Gain', which emphasises the power of reciprocity and support, with the message “when women thrive, we all rise”.
