Cycling trio raises £3000-plus from challenge
A cycle challenge by staff from Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) has blasted through its target to raise more than £3000.
Chief Nurse Anthony Deery, Lewis Burton, Senior Leadership, Learning and Organisational Development Manager, and Clinical Team Lead Williams Babalola, cycled in the region of 210 miles to raise awareness of good mental health and wellbeing and boost charitable funds for the Trust.
They visited several of NSFT’s main sites over three days from 18-20 September, arriving at their final destination, Hellesdon Hospital, on the Sunday, where they were greeted by cheering staff, family and friends and some well-deserved refreshments.
Anthony said: “We had a great weekend, and everyone has been very generous. The weather was kind to us, and it was amazing to see so many staff welcome us across Norfolk and Suffolk. Thank you so much to everyone who supported us.
“The funds will provide a welcome boost to resources that support patient and carer activities across the Trust.”
The trio set off from Hellesdon Hospital on the Friday morning, heading to Northgate Hospital in Great Yarmouth before continuing to Woodlands in Ipswich. The next day was Wedgwood House in Bury St Edmunds and Chatterton House in King’s Lynn, with the final day travelling back to Hellesdon.
