You can access urgent mental health support in a range of ways: 

  • Call 111 and select the mental health option to speak to the 24-hour urgent mental health helpline.
  • Visit 111 online to complete the web form
  • Call the Samaritans 24/7 phone line for free on 116 123 or use a self-help app calledSamaritans Self-Help where you can track your mood, create a safety plan, try techniques and helpful activities.
  • CALM helpline (5pm-midnight every day)  0800 58 58 58   also have online live chat and WhatsApp
  • Mind 's support line (Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm) 0300 102 1234
  • SANEline (4pm-10pm every day) 0300 304 7000 
  • Text SHOUT to 85258 (Crisis text line)

If you are supported by our services

If you are supported by us already and see staff from an NSFT team or service:

Check any information you have from us including your care plan, and:

  • During office hours please contact your care coordinator where you know who that is or use the telephone number for the team that is supporting you. If you don't have their details, visit NSFT's service finder.
  • Or call the urgent mental health helpline on 111 and select the mental health option. 
  • If you need a carer, friend or family member to call us, on your behalf, they can do that to pass important information on to us. However, we will need you to first provide your consent to the call handler if they want any information from us.

If you are not supported by our services

If you need urgent help and you are not supported by our services:

Call 111 and select the mental health option to speak to the 24-hour urgent mental health helpline. If you need a carer, friend or family member to call us on your behalf you will need to first provide your consent to the call handler.
