Mental health trust Chair invites service users, carers and public to join Council of Governors and help shape services

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) is looking for service users, carers and members of the public to join its Council of Governors and help mental health services thrive.
Trust Chair Zoë Billingham and Governors explain in a new video why people should consider standing for election to the Council and help shape local services.
"Governors play a really important role in improving the services our Trust provides, said Zoë. They engage with local communities, with service users and carers and feed that information back into the Trust so we can continue to improve.
"They hold the Non-Executive Directors to account for the performance of the Board, and ultimately the performance of our organisation.
"So, we're looking for people who are passionate about mental health to stand for election; maybe you have your own lived experience, maybe you are a carer, or have a special interest in mental health.
"It's an extremely rewarding role in which you can make a real difference to the way in which we, as a mental health Trust, provide and improve our services."
The Trust, which provides specialist mental health and learning disability services across Norfolk and Suffolk, has nine vacancies this year for members of the public to join the Council, and nominations are now open to stand for election.
