Carers Information Day returns to Norwich to mark World Mental Health Day

Carers, their families and anyone interested in finding out more about the support available in Norfolk and beyond are invited to attend Carers Information Day on Monday, 6 October at The Forum, Norwich.
Now in its tenth year, the event is jointly hosted by Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) and Care for Carers, and will once again bring together dozens of local and national organisations to share advice and information.
Running from 9am to 3pm, visitors will be able to explore information stands covering a wide range of topics including mental and physical health, finances, housing and community support. Teams from NSFT will also be on hand to provide updates on services and initiatives.
This year's Carers Information Day coincides with World Mental Health Day (10 October). The global theme is access to services - mental health in catastrophes and emergencies , with the event in Norwich focusing on the importance of mental wellbeing.
Attendees will also hear an update on NSFT's Carers Charter ahead of its official launch at the Trust's Annual General Meeting (AGM) also at The Forum on Thursday, 9 October.
Peter Rowley, Founder of Care for Carers, said: "Carers Information Day is about making sure carers, ex-carers and those being cared for know they don't have to face challenges alone and that there is a wealth of support available.
"We know the value of face-to-face interactions and we are delighted so many organisations have agreed to come along."
Jill Curtis, Carers Lead at NSFT, said: "Our second event each year coincides with World Mental Health Day, and we are proud to shine a light on the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing. Carers give so much of themselves every day - this event is about reminding them that they are not alone and that help is always within reach."
Anthony Deery, Chief Nurse at NSFT, said: "World Mental Health Day provides an opportunity to reflect on how we can better support carers, and we hope that bringing together organisations under one roof will make support more accessible and visible for this community.
"We are especially pleased to share an update on our Trust's Carers Charter ahead of its formal launch at our Annual General Meeting which reinforces our commitment to recognising and supporting carers as partners in delivering compassionate care."
The Trust's AGM 2025 will take place at 2pm on 9 October at The Forum.
