Teenage cousins walk from Norfolk to Suffolk to raise funds for NSFT

Cousins Ellie and Kitty Foss are walking from Norfolk to Suffolk to highlight the impact lockdown has had on teenage mental health and raise money for NSFT.

They will be leaving Kitty’s home near North Walsham in Norfolk to walk 55 miles over three days to Ellie’s home near Stowmarket in Suffolk.

Kitty said: “I think young people often have a really hard time with the pressures they have with school and college and social media, and this has been worse for many people during lockdown when they haven’t been able to see friends or family.”

The 18-year-olds decided to raise money for Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation trust as Kitty’s mum works for the organisation.

They have set their target for £500 and would be delighted if they could reach or beat it so money can help young people’s services.

“We don’t mind how the money is spent but it would nice if it could be used to help people our own age with their mental health,” said Ellie.
