Dr Saha Soumyadeep
I've been actively involved in Psychiatry and Mental Health since 2015 starting as a postgraduate trainee and now serving as a Specialty Doctor within NSFT. Over the past decade, I've worked with individuals across all age groups and a wide spectrum of mental health conditions, across two diverse cultures of UK and India.
This journey has taught me that mental health challenges affect people from all walks of life - including those who provide care. My clinical experience has deepened my understanding of the struggles faced by both service users and staff.
Now elected, I will:
1. Advocate for adequate and safe staffing at all levels of governance for patient safety.
2. Promote monthly compulsory acknowledgement and reflection of work for each staff by team head for continued motivation and learning.
3. Advocate for IMG (International Medical Graduate)/BAME support group within the Trust.
