Roger Mason – Public Governor, Norfolk
Term of office started 1 February 2023
I am a retired architect from North Norfolk. Therefore, I have experience dealing with authoritative bodies, including the NSFT. I have experience of supporting someone with schizophrenia over many years. This led me to believe the Trust must improve the way it deals with service users, carers, and the public. Therefore, in 2023, I became an elected governor of the Trust. The Trust has improved in that time and become more open.
My goal is still to make the Trust more transparent to service users, carers and the public. Making information and access to services easier to obtain. (This is improving but has a way to go.)
Clear communication and openness should be the foundation of mental health care.
