Overview
Eating Disorders Genetics Initiative (EDGI) aims to better understand the role that genes and environment play in the development of eating disorders. The more we understand these illnesses, the more we can help people who are experiencing them.
Who can take part?
People aged 16 and above who have experienced, or are experiencing any eating disorder and live in England. This can include people who have:
- Lifetime occurrence of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, or any other eating disorder defined in DSM-5.
- Diagnosed and/or treated for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa or binge-eating disorder or any other eating disorder defined in DSM-5.
- Probable and undiagnosed eating disorder identified through a screening questionnaire
What will I have to do / What does this study involve?
Reading the information sheet, completing a consent form and questionnaire online, and providing a saliva sample.
Please remember if you found out about the study from Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust then be sure to put that when asked to 'select the NHS trust, GP, talking therapy service or other healthcare provider.
