Help in a crisis
Looking for a career in mental health?

We're passionate about excellence in patient care - are you?

At NSFT, we offer forensic and secure services for people who have come into contact with the criminal justice system and may be experiencing mental health problems.

As part of our Secure Services team, you'll be part of a care pathway providing assessment, treatment and recovery based rehabilitation for people who need low to medium security during their treatment in Norfolk and Suffolk.

You'll be part of a service that has strong links with other statutory organisations and agencies. The care we provide includes relapse prevention work and health promotion:

  • Our medium secure inpatient service is provided by four wards at the Norvic Clinic in Thorpe St Andrews near Norwich

  • Our low secure inpatient service is provided by three wards on sites at St. Clement's Hospital in Ipswich and at Hellesdon Hospital in Norwich

  • We also have forensic community and Liaison and Diversion mental health teams in Norfolk and Suffolk.

We offer opportunities across our service in a range of posts - including staff nurses and charge nurses, team leaders and community nursing roles - so we can offer some exciting opportunities for the new Assistant Practitioner roles for staff looking to start a career in nursing.

If you're interested in a role to better suit your work-life balance then we have vacancies for full and part time staff. It's essential that you're interested in working closely with partner agencies, and are really motivated to be part of a team focused on promoting recovery and reducing re-offending.

Why work for us?

Our Newly Qualified Academy is the first of its kind in the UK. Here's why it's important.

In our Secure Services team, there are further development programs to support those staff who are interested in progressing into more senior nursing roles as charge nurses and team managers.

"We encourage you to apply whether you are newly qualified or have relevant experience. If you have skills in mental health, general practice, learning disability, working with women, substance misuse or dual diagnosis or in working with young people and children, then we would really like to hear from you."
- Dr Stephen M Jones BSc (Hons) MB BS MRCGP FRCPsychCore Programme Director
