Maximilian Clark - Service User Governor, Suffolk
Term of office started 1 February 2019
As a young man, I want to represent the experiences of mental health faced by individuals in my peer group. I want to:
- Challenge labels, stereotypical thinking, and unhealthy group and tribal culture
- Champion the notion of the individual
- Support the individual's unique journey to recognition and recovery
- Use my experiences to help improve support for people across Norfolk and Suffolk
I work at a strategic level to help meaningful co-production. This is to bridge the gap between ‘person’ and ‘professional’. I am a firm believer in blurring the invisible lines to bring people holistic and robust support.
I work for Ace Anglia, helping to put in place the Joint Health and Social Care Learning Disability Strategy. This includes Suffolk County Council and health services.
I work with people with learning disabilities to create easy-read documents. I also work with them to create other accessible information. This helps people with learning disabilities to understand Trust services.
