Christine Hawkes - Carer Governor, Norfolk

Christine Hawkes - Carer Governor, Norfolk Term of office started 1 February 2018

As a carer, I am in touch with carers and carersʼ groups throughout Norfolk. I attend Trust governor and director Board meetings. The voices of service users and carers should be at the forefront of mental health services. This includes commissioning, design and delivery.

As a teacher in charge of a specialist unit for children with autism, I worked with children, families and the local authority. I helped families get support with housing, benefits, medical and other difficulties. We worked together to ensure the child got support under the Children and Families Act 2014.

I represent carersʼ needs. I highlight the vital role played by unpaid carers to support people's mental health.
