Andrew Laphan, Research Assistant Psychologist

Image of Andrew Laphan I have recently joined NSFT to work on the ICALM project. ICALM is a study exploring an intervention called IPC-A  for young people experiencing low mood. I will be involved in helping to write up the report of the hard work that has gone into it. I will also be involved in the I-DIGIT project, which will be evaluating a standalone digital therapeutic game for children, based on graded exposure therapy to help with anxiety. This will involve working alongside people with lived experience, analysing data and conducting interviews.

I chose to work in research to learn more about it in the NHS and to make a clinical impact through the work that will hopefully help others. I enjoy getting to meet and know people from all sorts of backgrounds.

Taking part in mental health research can have an impact on improving the lives of others and helping to keep people safe, as well as improving your own experience and knowledge.
