NSFT Chair's contract extended

NSFT Council of Governors are pleased to announce that they have extended Marie Gabriel’s contract and she will continue as chair of Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Trust until December 2021.

The Council of Governors agreed the extension on 1 October 2020.

Marie, who has been with the Trust for nearly two years, said: “I have found my role at NSFT highly rewarding and am very much looking forward to continuing our improvement journey together.

"There is still much to do, but we have already come so far and I want to be part of that journey.”

The council has agreed to Marie stepping down from three to two days-a-week, with the two vice chairs covering the counties in which each lives for the other day. This will enable the Trust to deepen its local relationships.

Members value the support and guidance Marie has provided in leading the Board and the Council of Governors, alongside the work of our staff, in making steady progress in improving how we care for our service users.
