Whitlingham Ward aims to support women within a secure setting where people will receive specialist assessment, treatment and intensive rehabilitation in a safe environment. Our service will support people to learn to understand and manage their mental health and risk behaviour and to develop independent living skills collaboratively by identifying shared goals. Our service is available to those people who require either Low or Medium security.
What conditions do you treat?
• Bipolar disorder
• Severe depression
• Personality disorder
• Intrusive thoughts
• Suicide attempts
What age range does this service treat?
18 years and over
What geographical area does this service cover?
Norfolk and Suffolk
Where possible we encourage service users to maintain relationships with family and friends. Where an individual has taken on a carer role, or where there are struggles to balance the caring duties with day to day life, we will refer that person for a carer’s assessment.
How can people get referred to this service?
We accept referrals from secure services, the courts, prisons and other mental health services.
What to expect when referred
You can be admitted into our ward for a few months or more. We work closely with you to determine the best treatment based on risk reduction and assessment while you are here and we review this regularly.
