We are a 17 bed acute admission ward offering assessment and treatment if you are or deemed to be experiencing acute mental illness and your risks cannot be managed safely in the community.
Following your assessment and agreement that you need to be admitted, a formal request for admission is made to the Crisis Team and discussed with the bed management team or on duty senior service lead.
We operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Length of admission to our ward is from a few days to a couple of weeks. We adopt a multidisciplinary approach which includes nursing, medical, occupational therapy and psychology staff who all work closely with you to ensure your needs are met and that your stay is as short as possible. You have a review every week with our team and this can include your family member, carer and/or advocate. Your community nurse is also involved in your care while you are staying with us and maintains contact with you throughout your stay.
