Under-25s Learning Disabilities Community Team - Learning Difficulties Youth CAMHS

We are a community-based tier three service, for children and young people under 25 with a learning disability who are experiencing emotional, behaviour or mental health difficulties.

Our service is available to those who are living in the Waveney area and are registered with a Suffolk GP.

 What conditions does the service treat?

​Mental health difficulties, emotional difficulties and/or behaviours which challenge.

 What support do you offer carers, family and friends?

​We work with your family and carer across home, work, school, and community settings, if required. Support includes training, advice, information and education about your condition, in addition to signposting to other services and supporting further referrals.

 What age range does this service treat?

​Up to the age of 25.

 Referral information for the public

How can people get referred to this service? Referrals can be made through the single point of access on 0300 123 1882. A referral can be made by a GP, social worker, teacher or any other professional working with the child or young person.
What to expect when referred
Urgent referrals are seen within 72 hours. We aim to see all routine referrals within 28 days. For appropriate referrals, we will develop a care plan for support with the child, young person and their family.

Referral criteria (summary)

We welcome referrals for a child or young person (0-25) with:

* A diagnosed learning disability

* Significant impairment of intellectual functioning

* Significant impairment of adaptive/social functioning

* Age of onset before adulthood

* Living in the Waveney district catchment area and registered with a Suffolk GP

 Who are experiencing

* Emotional / behavioural / mental health issues
