Northgate Ward, Wedgwood House, West Suffolk

 What help do you offer?

At Northgate we provide a 21 bed acute admissions ward serving the local adult population of West Suffolk. We provide high standards of treatment and care if you require a safe and therapeutic setting to promote recovery.​

 How do I get help from your service?

Our referrals are taken and managed for us by the West Suffolk Bed Management Team and when out of hours the West Suffolk Home Treatment Team.​

 What hours is your service available?

We are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.​

 What can I expect from you?

On arrival, you and your carer are shown around the ward. You are given a welcome pack and  shown to your own en-suite room - we have separate male and female sleeping areas.
 
Length of admission varies between a week to four weeks. During this time our team of doctors, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists and other health professionals assess, plan, implement and evaluate your needs and care.

 What support do you offer carers including friends and family?

During your stay, family and carers form part of your assessment and care. With your permission, we may ask to speak regularly to your relative and/or carer in order to receive and provide information, to offer support and to work collaboratively towards your overall care. We also offer carers clinics, where your carer can access support, these clinics are available on a day/time that suits your carers needs.
 
There is a quiet room available for use by visitors. There is a room available off the ward for visitors with children. Children under the age of 16 are not allowed onto the ward.

Facilities onsite
Parking is available onsite and is free until the end of September 2020.

We have disabled access and toilet facilities.

A vending machine selling snacks and refreshments is available.

People already being treated by our service should contact your local Integrated Delivery Team (IDT). If you do not have a team already supporting you, you can contact our access and assessment team on 0300 123 1334. ​
