Our MHSTs are an early intervention service that support children and young people, their families and school/college communities with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
Each MHST is allocated to specific secondary schools/colleges and their feeder primary schools within Suffolk. We work directly in schools, on site and in the wider school community, both in and out of school times, including school holidays.
Currently in East Suffolk we are supporting Farlingaye High School and Alde Valley Academy and their primary school feeders. In West Suffolk we are supporting Mildenhall College Academy and Thurston Community College and their primary school feeders.
We are a service which will be expanding across both East and West Suffolk to support further schools and colleges.
Referral to our service is mostly via schools. We also accept referrals from other professionals working with children and young people, as well as self referrals.
9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
Bespoke support for mild to moderate mental health difficulties provided in a timely manner following assessment. This could include individual therapy sessions, school based intervention and work with parents. We also support schools in developing their whole school approach.

We aim to work as closely with families as possible and include them when appropriate in a child/young person's care.
The MHST is not an emergency service. If support is needed urgently please contactFirst Response by telephone on 0808 196 3494. This is a service for people of all ages in Norfolk and Suffolk requiring mental health care, advice and support.
In an emergency (if the young person has seriously injured themselves or taken an overdose) please seek medical attention via your local Accident and Emergency department.
