Trust to hold first disorder specific Carers Forum in Lowestoft

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is to host its first disorder specific Carers Forum in Suffolk this month.

The Carers Forum will be held on 17 October at the Aspire Centre, in Lowestoft, and will focus on providing help and information for family carers of people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Speakers will include Professor Steve Bazire, MBE, who was recently awarded the prestigious Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists' Gold medal for his work and knowledge around drugs used in mental health.

Charge Nurse and forum organiser Howard Tidman said: "The Carers Forum is the first disorder specific forum we have held in Norfolk and has already attracted huge interests from mental health professionals.

"Subjects will include anxiety, medication and strategy and we are looking forward to meeting all carers of those with ADHD and ASD, our guest speakers, and the general public."

The Carers Forum, arranged in conjunction with Suffolk Family Carers, will be held at the Aspire Centre on Yarmouth Road, Lowestoft, NR32 4AH.

For more information contact Howard Tidman 07557 290169 or Daniel Richards 01473 835420.
