Trust seeks two new Non-Executive Directors

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) is searching for two people with senior management experience to join its Board as new Non-Executive Directors (NEDs).

The successful applicants will be responsible for helping to further improve quality at the Trust and ensuring the services provided across both counties are safe, sustainable and offer the best possible outcomes for patients.

The roles are suitable for people who have held senior management positions and are able to probe and constructively challenge others. As one of the NEDs will chair the Trust’s Audit and Risk Committee, they will also need financial qualifications.

Gary Page, Chair of NSFT, said: “We are continuing to develop a culture in which quality, safety and service user and carer experience is our number one priority, and have already taken action to drive through improvements in a number of key areas. This includes the quality of reporting to our Board and investments in frontline staff and the environment from which we provide care.

“However, we recognise that there is still work to be done and want to make those changes as quickly as possible to ensure we continue to provide high quality services for the people of Norfolk and Suffolk.

“We are looking for two Non-Executive Directors who understand the challenges ahead but also recognise that it will be a rewarding and worthwhile journey, working as part of an ambitious Board to create a successful, high performing and sustainable future for our Trust.

“The successful candidates will need to build upon the changes we have already made, be able to probe and challenge others constructively and bring the benefit of their experience, regardless of the sector or specialism, so that they can make an effective contribution to the complex and changing environment in which we work.”

The closing date for applications is 14 September. Both posts will require a commitment of at least four days each month and will receive remuneration of £11,000 a year for the NED role and £14,500 for the Audit Chair role.
