Special event in King's Lynn to improve wellbeing

People from across west Norfolk will be given the chance to find out more about looking after their health and wellbeing and the help which is available to manage conditions such as stress and depression at a special wellbeing improvement day on 26 September.

The event has been organised by the Wellbeing Improvement Team, who have all received treatment from the Wellbeing service, which is run by Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) in partnership with Mind and Relate.

It will bring together a host of information about the Wellbeing service, which offers counselling, group sessions, therapy and a range of interventions for people with common mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and stress. Representatives from Mind and Relate will also be on hand to answer questions, while nutritionists can give advice on eating well and health trainers on living a healthy lifestyle. Complimentary therapists will also attend to explain more about their work.

The day, which takes place on Saturday, 26 September in King’s Lynn, will also give people the chance to find out more about the work of the Wellbeing Improvement Team, which works alongside staff from the Wellbeing service to help develop ideas and further improve the services which are available.

“The group works in partnership with the Wellbeing service to give feedback on leaflets, websites, questionnaires and other materials targeted at service users, as well as discussing upcoming events and courses,” said Steve, group chairman.

“We are here to help the professionals to encourage more people to use the service and help further improve the way it is delivered to get the best possible outcomes for everyone.

“Our improvement day is an important part of that work, and will help us to showcase the new service and the help which it offers as well as giving people a range of other advice and guidance on looking after their emotional and physical health.”

The Wellbeing Improvement Event takes place from 10am to 4pm at Providence Street Community Centre in King’s Lynn. Everyone is welcome to drop in and find out more.

Anyone who may be interested in joining the Wellbeing Improvement Team is invited to its regularly monthly meeting, which takes place at 5.30pm on the first Wednesday of each month at the Community Centre in Providence Street.
