NRP celebrates Recovery Month

Throughout the month of June, Norfolk Recovery Partnership (NRP) is celebrating Recovery Month across all of its local services.

NRP is running a series of local events in order celebrate to recovery, so that local communities can see first-hand the benefits and opportunities that freedom from alcohol and drug addiction can bring. NRP is also aiming to increase awareness of their services across Norfolk to grow their network of service users who champion a lifestyle free from dependence and help engage the wider community.

Supported by a Twitter campaign, the month is a great opportunity to celebrate recovery and everyone can get involved by hosting an event. NRP have organised some small local events across the county which include music and showcases art, photography and poetry submitted by our service users.

Norfolk Recovery Partnership is a recovery focussed service offering high quality, easily accessible help for people affected by alcohol and/or drugs in Norfolk.

The partnership is made up of Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Alcohol & Drug Service (TADS), The Matthew Project and the Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners Trust (RAPt) providing joint alcohol and drug services within the community and Norfolk Prisons.

Events include:
2 June, 11am- 4pm: Recovery BBQ and open day at Unthank Road, Norwich
Service users and staff are celebrating recovery with a barbecue and live music in the garden of NRP Unthank Road. Art which has been created by our service users will be displayed around the building and there will also be a number of information stands set up by local and national agencies including:
• Narcotics Anonymous
• Alcoholics Anonymous
• Parents and carers
• Homeless outreach team
• Criminal Justice
• Under 1 Roof and
• Phoenix and NORCAS

4 June, 2-4pm: Music and Arts at Thetford Recovery Café 
5 June, 2-4pm: Music and Arts at Dereham Recovery Café
11 June, 11am-2pm: Purple Picnic at The Weavers’ Centre, Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich  
14 June, 7pm-1am: 1930s Ball at Sprowston Manor Hotel
The Matthew Project is holding a 1930s ball. Music is being provided by The Pavilion Big Band and the evening commences with a Mocktail reception. For more information or to book a table, please visit The Matthew Project website http://www.matthewproject.org/1930s-charity-ball/
16 June: Celebrating Recovery coffee morning at Chapel Street, King’s Lynn
17 June: Recovery Walk, King’s Lynn
18 June, 9am-4.30pm: Celebrate with a Mocktail at The Vancouver Bandstand, King’s Lynn  
19 June:
Recovery Café Relaunch in Swaffham 
20 June: Celebrating Recovery – Recovery Café, Huntstanton 
23 June, 10am-4pm:
Recovery Market Stall – 32-33 Market Place, Great Yarmouth NR30 1LX  
23 June, 12-3pm:
Celebrating Recovery at The Willow Centre, Great Yarmouth 
Tea, coffee and cakes will be provided and a number of staff members and service users will be on hand to provide information to the public.
30 June, 1-4pm: Celebrating Recovery at The Weavers Centre, Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich 
To conclude the month of celebrations, staff and service users are holding an informal event in the grounds of Hellesdon Hospital. ​
