Hunt begins for a new Director of Operations in Suffolk

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) is to recruit a new Director of Operations for Suffolk after Alison Armstrong announced she is leaving the role.

Alison has worked for the NSFT since January 2015 and during that time she has served on the Board, helped the Trust move out of special measures and further improved the quality of services which people in Suffolk receive by working closely with colleagues from across the NHS and social care.

Alison also played a key role in winning the recent tender for the Wellbeing Suffolk service, which launched in the autumn and is ensuring thousands of people receive the help and support they need for common mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression.

Michael Scott, Chief Executive of NSFT, said: “Over the past two years, Alison has supported our agenda to improve quality, performance and prevention within our services, always putting service users and carers at the forefront.

“With the support of the dedicated and hardworking teams in Suffolk, she has led the further development of our services in the county.

“Of course, there is always more work to be done to continue to build and develop even more excellent mental health services for local people and we remain committed to local management in Suffolk, ensuring that staff, services users and carers, and commissioners, continue to receive dedicated focus from a locally-based Director of Suffolk Operational services.

“On behalf of the members of our Board I would like to thank Alison for the dedication and commitment she has shown to our Trust, our service users, carers and partners, and wish her the very best now and in the future.”
