High Sheriff of Norfolk hosts an evening on modern mental health at Hammerton Court

An evening hosted by Lady Dannatt at Hammerton Court, in Norwich, will be looking at the changing approaches to mental health down the decades.
Lady Dannatt has focused on mental health and wellbeing during her year as High Sheriff of Norfolk and is hosting the event today, 5 March, with Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

Hammerton Court is the mental health trust's state-of-the-art dementia care unit and guests from across the public sector, charities, churches, MPs and the media in Norfolk have been invited to the event.

The evening - which has been paid for by a donor who has asked to remain anonymous - will include talks from Lady Dannatt and from the Trust's Medical Director, Dr Bohdan Solomka, on changes to mental health treatment over the last century. Guests will also tour Beach Ward at Hammerton Court and receive a taster session on Mindfulness.

Trust Chair, Gary Page, said: "We are very grateful to Lady Dannatt in her capacity as High Sheriff of Norfolk for her passionate championing of mental health during her year in office as Sheriff.

"She very kindly agreed to host a session with us on Modern Mental Health at Hammerton Court and we're looking forward to showing guests how mental healthcare has evolved over the years."
