 What help do you offer?

At the Tier 4 Adolescent Inpatient Unit we offer a service for young people from 12 to 18 if you are deemed to be at greatest risk because of rapidly declining mental health or serious harm to yourself, or if you require a period of intensive input for the purposes of assessment and treatment.

How do I get help from your service?

Our consultants and clinical team leader assess your situation following a telephone call and referral from your community team.

What hours is your service available?

You can call us 24 hours a day on 01502 527400.

What can I expect from you?

You may have a four to six week therapeutic assessment for mental health conditions including eating disorders. As part of this phase we also meet with your family or carers.

 What conditions do you treat?

We offer services to young people in crisis with mental health conditions including but not limited to:

What support do you offer carers including friends and family?

We offer daily updates and telephone support. We encourage close involvement with all aspects of care and offer our support systemically alongside family therapy. We can signpost you to outside agencies for further support. We also offer psychoeducational training and hold carer’s groups every two weeks. A carer’s communication plan is also completed which includes the needs of the whole family.
