What's the deal with...
Compass Centre

 What help do you offer?

The Compass Centre is a partnership between Norfolk County Council Children’s Services and the Trust. We provide a therapeutic education service with a successful history of supporting children and families, who would otherwise be placed in out of county care.

How do I get help from your service?

We have an admissions process to discuss placement of referrals. This process involves discussions between Children's Services, the Short Stay School for Norfolk and the clinical team at the Compass Centre. We don't accept referrals from any other source.

What hours is your service available?

What can I expect from you?

We offer high quality educational and therapeutic interventions for hard-to-reach young people. Without our centre, they would be placed in residential schools, irreversibly breaking their attachments to their families and local communities.

The culture of our centre is inclusive and we work on young people's strengths using an integrated approach to education and therapy. Parents and carers are fully involved in the work and have easy access to therapists and teachers alike.

What is the main address of your service?

Compass Centre
Bell Lane
Great Yarmouth
NR31 9LD

 How can I contact you?

You can call us on 01493 448517

 What conditions do you treat?

The majority of our pupils show mental health attachment and behavioural difficulties.

What support do you offer carers including friends and family?

We provide individual psychotherapy for our pupils' parents, family therapy, family activity days, some respite during school holidays and parent skills training.
