Acle Ward provides inpatient care within a medium-secure setting to females aged 18 or over.
We take referrals from other medium-secure settings, Ministry of Justice, HMP sectors, low-secure settings, acute services, forensic community mental health teams and many more.
Acle Ward is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Acle ward is an 8 bedded ward located in the Norvic Clinic. Acle Ward will provide ongoing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for those patients who have complex mental health, psychological and behavioural difficulties and who may display more overt challenging behaviours, e.g. aggression and self-harm. It is projected that treatment provided would have a particular focus on psychological interventions. Acle ward aims to ensure staff work closely with patients and their families/carers, to identify current health, care and treatment needs. Addressing patient care needs is not limited to nursing and medical staff as we work together with other professionals such as psychologists, art therapists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Patients will always be asked for their views on what they feel are their current difficulties, and can expect staff to work with them to establish the best way to help them identify why this may be the case, and how we can help them to manage these difficulties. Staff are also able to assist patients to address any issues relating to substance dependency, such as alcohol or drugs.
Should you wish to make a referral please email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact the Norvic Clinic on 01603 421010
Acle ward will be happy to offer support to carers/family regarding care and treatment issues although this will be only once individual patient consent has been received. Carers assessments can be offered through the trust carers leads and various carers groups are run across the trust.
