At the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, we look after the charitable funds for the Trust, as well as Ipswich, East and West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group and Great Yarmouth and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group. Our charitable fund is registered with the Charity Commission, charity number 1103563.
Income has been generated over the years from the generosity of our patients, relatives, staff and service users. Funds are kept separately from NHS income and really make a difference to the people who use our services.
Our mission is to support a wide range of charitable and health related activities for the benefit of both patients and staff to enhance patient care. The funds are also used to purchase extra equipment and services in addition to the normal NHS provision.
Over the years we have been able to support a wide range of initiatives, including:
We try and respect the wishes of those making donations whenever possible. Some people donate to their local hospital or team and others more generally to the fund. All types of donation are welcome but the less restricted they are the easier it is for them to make a difference where it really counts.
Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is the corporate Trustee of the charitable funds. The Trustee has delegated the day to day management of the funds to the Charitable Fund committee. The funds are overseen by fund holders who can make recommendations on how the money is spent in their areas.
To apply for charitable funds please complete a charitable funds request form in the first instance and send it to the Charitable Fund Officer who will approach the fund holder to ask for their approval. If the request is approved the funds will be released.
